Community mourns student: ; Mich. town pays its respects to shooting victim

FLINT, Mich. - Mourners paid their respects today to 6-year-oldshooting victim Kayla Rolland as the girl's body lay in a whitecasket with gold trim, a small doll of the television dinosaurBarney at the base. In her hands was a small card with a poemtitled "I'm free."

"She was too young. She didn't even have a chance to grow up,"said Buffy Darling, one of the first visitors to the funeral homethis morning. "I was thinking about getting a handgun forprotection. When I saw this on the news, I said, 'No way.'"
