Tas: Woman dies in Midland Highway accident

MELBOURNE, April 22 AAP - A woman died today in a car accident on the Midland Highway
- Tasmania's first road death for the Easter holiday period.

Sergeant Patrick Lee of Tasmania police said the accident happened at about 6.45pm
on the highway south of Oaklands, near the Mud Walls Road turn off.

It was a one-vehicle accident.

The woman's death was confirmed, but the circumstances were still being determined
by accident investigators at the scene.

Sgt Lee said he believed the car may have left the road, but more details would be
available later.
