CHANGING pipe diameter or pressure class is a time-consuming operation which reduces the effective production time of an extrusion line. Yet customers for pipe want to buy in smaller lots, meaning more frequent job changes. And the extra downtime has to be paid for from the extruder's profits.

In recent years a few devices have been brought to market which can change pipe specification without stopping the line. The most recent was introduced towards the end of last year by iNOEX of Germany.
